February News

Sports Coaches from KS4 and KS5 had a fantastic day umpiring Table Cricket.  Table Cricket is a  fast-paced and highly accessible version of the traditional game, allowing pupils of all abilities to participate. Using a table-based setup with ramps, fielders, and scoring zones, the format encourages strategic thinking and quick reactions from players.

The event was held at Kent Cricket’s St Lawrence Ground Sports Hall in Canterbury on Wednesday 4th February. Pupils from a variety of schools took part, including our very own Year 8 team from The Beacon.

Our sports coaches guided the teams through the rules, techniques and tactics of the game, demonstrating excellent leadership and professionalism as they grew in confidence throughout the event. Our year 8 pupils rose to the challenge, thinking creatively about how to score as highly as possible. They thoroughly enjoyed the event.

It was a brilliant effort from everyone involved, it was wonderful to see pupils enjoying competing for and representing their school and such a great example of our school community working together.
