The National Curriculum

All pupils from Year 1 to Year 11 follow the National Curriculum in England. The revised statutory curriculum, The National Curriculum in England, Framework came into force in September 2014.

The Beacon follows the revised National Curriculum which is organised into four key stages and twelve subjects (DfE, 2013,p.7).

The diagram below illustrates those subjects which are statutory and at which key stage.

The Beacon is required to teach Religious Education at all Key Stages and Secondary Education must provide sex and relationship education.

 

At The Beacon we follow the Kent Agreed Syllabus for our Religious Education lessons.
