Science Enrichment Day 2018

Pupils across the school enjoyed taking part in our Science Enrichment Day on the 22nd May 2018.

Pupils had the chance to take part in a wide range of activities covering many aspects of science including; Rocks and Fossils, Pond life, Bees (how they live and their life cycle), Space, Forces and Motion, Optical Illusions, States of matter and they even had the chance to meet some unusual animals brought in by Zoolab.  Everyone involved agreed that they had learnt some new Scientific skills and were inspired to become scientists of the future!

We had a focus on British Scientists and many pupils were able to follow clues in order to discover all about Scientists from the past and present including Newton, Galilleo and Aderin-Pocock!

We were fortunate to have interactive sessions provided by Pfizer, Joshing Around, Helen Sharp from Academy FM, Zoolab and PaleoQuest.  All of these visitors provided excellent hands on workshops that were accessible for a wide range of pupils.

Everybody had a great day getting stuck in and the pupils and staff were left with huge smiles on their faces.

This video below shows some of the highlights of the day.
