Careers - Information for staff and governors
As a member of The Beacon community you are at the forefront of helping our students prepare for their future. We all have a valuable role to play in supporting our pupils to develop their independence and prepare for adulthood. Careers advice starts in secondary, but learning all about The World of Work starts at the beginning of The Beacon learning journey in EYFS.
Our Aims:
We have an obligation to support our pupils develop their independence, confidence and life skills, and encourage them to be as aspirational as possible.
When we think of careers we aren’t necessarily always thinking about what job our pupils will do when they are older, but rather understanding more about how different people contribute to society and what that means for them.
At The Beacon we have developed a careers programme which has been weaved into our five curriculum strands.
If you would like to find out more about careers and next steps at The Beacon, please speak to me.
